Utjani bemadlelweni bunomthiya obalulekileko, ikinga ekulu kukhetha i-dry matter (DM) etholaka etjanini bemadlelweni. Lokha iimbuzi nazithola ama-concentrates amanengi, zingatjhugulula ihlelo lazo lokudla zidle kancani emadlelweni. Utjani bemadlelweni nabunganakhwalithi, bungangezelelwa nge-200-300 gm yama-concentrates isilwane ngasinye qobelanga ngokuya kweminyaka yazo. Ilihlo lomthengisi libalulekile njemgombana umfuyi kufanele aqale bona iimbuzi zilamukela njani itjhuguluko etjanini obukhona.
Umfuyi kufuze alinganise i-DM ayilindeleko etjanini bamadlelo bekaphe ama-concentrates angezelelweko ngendlela efaneleko. Nakwenzekako bona umfuyi asole bona i-DM kufuze ibe yinengi ukudlula isilinganiso, baphungule iretjhiyo yama-concentrate. Umkhiqizo webisi nawungehla ngonobangela wetjhuguluko ekudleni, kungenziwa isiqiniseko sokobana umkhiqizo webisi ungehleli phasi futhi ngokunikela ama-concentrate. Iimbuzi zebisi zitlhoga isiphila ekudleni kwazo ukuzilekelela bona zikghone ukumunyisa.
Iimbuzi ezisidisi (eenyangeni ezine zokuthoma zokubasidisi) kufanele zidle emadlelweni amahle ama-awara ayi-5/qobelanga begodu angezelelwe nge-5kg yefuru ehlaza ngelanga, eenyangeni zokugcina zokuzithwala, lokhu kukhuliswe kufike ku-7kg qobelanga kungezelelwe ukudla okuma–concentrate eziphiwa khona nge-250-400gm qobelanga esilwaneni ngasinye. Amadlelo amahle kufanele aphe imbuzi engamunyisiko zoke iinthako ezitlhogako, kodwana angatlhoga ama-concentrates ayi-150 - 200 gm/qobelanga emadlelweni angasi mahle.
Iimbuzi kufuze zithole ikhwalithi ephezulu yamaminerali enzelwe iimbuzi kwaphela. Lokhu kufanele kube nekhopha eyaneleko bezithambe zingabi liblogo eliqinileko lamaminerali.

Kufikela eenyangeni ezintathu zobudala, iputwana lembuzi lithola umvango webisi (lembuzi nofana lekomo), ukudla kwefuyo okuhlaza nokuzidlela ukwakha umzimba kufakwa endaweni ekhethekileko lapho iimbuzi ezidala zingekhe zangena khona. Kusukela elangeni lesi-90 amaputwana uyavulelwa ayokudla emadlelweni ama-awara ayi-8 ngelanga. Ukudla okungezelelweko okunamaprotheyini ayi15-18% kudliwe qobe langa; ekulinganiselwa ku-125-200gm isilwaneni ngasinye ngelanga. Ziphe ifuru ebusuku nofana ngeskhathi sonyaka lapha izulu lina khona.
