Throughout Nelson Mandela’s career, he met and formed amicable relationships with many political associates, work colleagues and collaborators such as Walter Sisulu and Moses Mayekiso. Sisulu and Mandela met in Johannesburg where Sisulu worked as an estate agent and later became a member of the African National Congress (ANC).

Moses Mayekiso helped formed the Congress of South African and Trade Unions (Cosatu).

Pictured here is (from left) Moses Mayekiso, Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu and his daughter, Zenani Mandela, at his home in Orlando West, Soweto shortly after Mandela’s release from prison in 1990.

“I have spent all my life dreaming of a golden age in which all problems will be solved and our wildest hopes fulfilled.” ~ Nelson Mandela
