Shindzela Tented Safari Camp is a small camp and can therefore cater to guests’ preference, whether it be game drives or game walks. A guide is always on standby to inform you of a good time to go out. It really is all about the animals and there are two game drives a day. One early morning and one late in the afternoon as well.
The later game drive is sometimes accompanied by a short walk to track some of the animals, as well as sundowner drink before continuing the drive into the night to follow the nocturnal animals of the bush. Guests who go out on a walking safari enjoy the bush on foot with experienced and armed guides. There is thorough briefing before heading out on an incredible experience with ample time to stop and take in the wonder of the untouched lowveld bush.
Hide Sleep-out Experience
At this affordable accommodation in the Timbavati, guests looking to add a more exciting touch to their safari adventure have the opportunity to book a sleep-out. The sleep-out takes place in a hide that overlooks the main dam.
Guests enjoy their normal night game drive and dinner at the lodge dining room before a guide escorts you to the hide where you settle in for the night. Sleep comfortably underneath the stars with a view of the dam and expect surprise visits from animals such as buffalo, hippo and maybe even a lion or two.
