Your Experience

The tented camps at Shindzela offer guests the option of affordable accommodation in the Timbavati while still enjoying all the perks of a traditional safari adventure. Made from canvas, the tents are cosy in winter and cool in summer, and allow guests to experience the sounds and smells of the bush from the comfort of their own beds.

The tents at Shindzela Safari Camp are informal and authentic with the main focus on the little patio overlooking the waterhole where guests can enjoy a cold beer in the lowveld heat. There is a general bush camp area with a dining room, swimming pool and comfortable chairs to relax on. Take a dip in the pool and relax in the shade while continuously keeping an eye on the waterhole where animals, including a herd of elephants, come to drink.

At night, the central fireplace is lit and guests catered for with warm African hospitality whilst they get to know their fellow travellers.
At this affordable accommodation in the Timbavati the natural environment surrounding the camp is unfenced which means that animals can enter the area to walk about as they please. This is a thrilling experience, but safety is always paramount and at night you will receive a personal escort to your room.

Imagine yourself around a traditional African fire, drink in hand, making new friends while elephants can be heard grazing just a few meters away.
