Members of the SA Litchi Growers’ Association (SALGA) have access to research encompassing the production, post-harvest research, packaging and marketing of litchis.
This research enabled growers to increase yield and quality for the litchis they produce. They also receive statistics,data and access to both local and international litchi growing markets such as in China, South Korea, India and Vietnam.
This broadens the scope of knowledge for the best farming practices and techniques to use on local litchi produce.
The data that SA Litchi Growers Association members will be provided with contains pertinent information about the litchi fruit growth habits, harvest cycle and the best pollinators to use. This information will armour litchi growers and producers with the specific and necessary knowledge to increase the quality of their crop.
SA Litchi Growers Association members are able to relay concerns through the association to government and state officials for solutions and the organisation will in turn relay the new regulations to its members and the rest of the litchi growing industry.
SA Litchi Growers’ Association is therefore also able to restructure the industry by influencing the political process of access to new markets.
Members of SA Litchi Growers’ Association have access to study groups curated by the organisation across different production regions and these study groups allow growers to learn from each other and from industry experts about the litchi growing industry.
