Daily sunrise and afternoon game drives depart from Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge with a more relaxed sundowner drive available from September to March.
Game Viewing
Apart from being able to view the Big 5 you will be sure to encounter a variety of other animals such as hippo, cheetah, crocodile, sable and the nocturnal brown hyena.
An afternoon drive can be combined with a bush braai at the Boma, making for an entire evening of entertainment. If you are not up to a game drive you can stay in and happily enjoy a glass of wine at the restaurant overlooking the waterhole.
A 130m underground tunnel leads from the lodge to the outdoor hide which makes for the perfect vantage point for a secretive, close-up look at the wildlife surrounding the luxury accommodation in the Pilanesberg.
Bush Dining
The Kwa Lefakeng Restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served, overlooks the waterhole and the resplendent granite formations within the park. Traditional South African cuisine forms the basis of the selected buffets and carvery with dishes such as springbok, kudu, beef and even seafood to tantalize the tastebuds of even the most discerning of diners.
If you don’t feel like dining in the restaurant you can sample dishes from the terrace or opt to for the room-service menu. On selected evenings guests can also enjoy a traditional South African bush braai in the Boma. A fully-licensed and well-stocked bar is available at Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge and offers a variety of imported and local beer, wines and spirits.
Junior Rangers Program
This innovative program is available to children between the ages of 6 and 12 years staying at the Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge. Parents rest-assured that their children will be well cared for under the close supervision of highly trained staff.
The children participate in a host of activities such as game drives, bird watching, bush walks and in-house entertainment. Activity badges and stickers are awarded for each activity with certificates being handed out at a pledge ceremony after completion of all 8 activities.
