Membership of Cape Flora SA

The primary aim of Cape Flora SA is to establish the continuous profitability of the fynbos industry and all members commit to addressing certain focus areas in a practical and dedicated manner. These members are indigenous flower growers, producers and exporters.

Cape Flora SA is run by dedicated individuals who make up the Cape Flora SA Executive Management Committee. Each member is responsible for a portfolio of the organisation, and available to advise and guide any Cape Flora members. The Executive Management Committee duties include:

Research, technology transfer, plant development, and certification
Product/Cultivar improvement
Promotion of trade and markets

Veld harvesting research and support
Market advancement and education of consumers
Transformation, education and training, social and economic development in the industry -  including land reform
Development and dissemination of industry information and statistical data
Efficient communication between those in the industry and focused target groups.

The fynbos industry works with the committee to produce funds for research efforts, coordinate ideas, actions and proposals and identify issues within the industry. Exporters of indigenous flowers that work with Cape Flora SA include AFG, Afrex Trading, Cape Mountain Flora, Fynbloem and Proteus Logistics & Marketing, to name a few.
