Membership Benefits of Subtrop

The value of membership is unique to each of the South African Subtropical Growers’ Association (Subtrop) member associations, SAAGA, SALGA and SAMGA, although the associations also have largely overlapping values beneficial to all stakeholders.

Avocado, Litchi and Mango growers benefit from knowledge gained through in-depth production research such as testing new cultivars, optimizing harvest quality and pest management, leading to increased yields and maintaining high production standards.

Through consolidating resources of member associations, representation in the industry is strengthened through the South African Subtropical Growers’ Association (Subtrop).

Accessing new potential markets requires a strong mouthpiece on a governmental level which is gained through Subtrop’s collective representation in government. Technical assistance and information are shared with all members.

The South African Subtropical Growers’ Association (Subtrop) engages actively through their member associations in extensive marketing research and development which is crucial for consumer awareness and consequently increased production and profitability for grower members.

Through relevant study groups in each field, pivotal data required for growth in the industry is gathered and shared between industry experts and members.

Members receive the quarterly Subtrop Journal with relevant industry and technical information, such as latest developments, market-related information and production practices in the industry.
