Classic Kruger - Activities
Kruger National Park

This is what you are really in the Kruger for, right? The game rangers that lead the morning and evening game drives are exceptionally good at what they do.

Game Viewing

They can pull off anything from leopard sightings to lions, elephant, buffalo, rhino, hippo, giraffe, zebra, crocodile, wildebeest and baboons.

Remember, this is the African wild so nothing is guaranteed, but it does help to know that your time will be well spent with experts who are passionate about nature. Morning game drives include coffee and a snack, and evening game drives include sundowners before finishing up the drive using a spotlight to locate the nocturnal animals such as owls, and jackals.

Bird Watching and Bush Walks

During the daily bush walks at Camp Shawu, you will be exposed to termite mounds and other unique facets of the bush such as dung, tracks, and hundreds of other species of those smaller African animals, and plants that are indigenous to the area. The Kruger Park offers outstanding birdwatching too. Keep an eye out for vultures, bee-eaters, rollers, eagles, bustards, hornbills and starlings.

Sanctuary Spa

Shishangeni Private Game Lodge offers guests who reside at Camp Shawu the chance to truly relax at their sanctuary spa, which is located at the Main Lodge. This is a great option for couples and honeymooners to indulge in after an early morning game drive. Therapists offer Aromatherapy Massages, Indian Head Massages and Foot Massages.
