Marmite is the secret ingredient in this beef fillet recipe by Jeff Grier.
Ingredients
1 beef fillet
Marmite
Crushed black peppercorns
Recipe
Serves 4
Coat one side of the fillet with Marmite. Then cover with plenty of crushed black peppercorns. Braai over hot coals until medium-rare (or whatever your preference). Finish with a flambé flourish (getting the coals to flame up and sear the meat).
Cut into thick slices and serve with oven-roasted potato wedges, a small sprig of baby tomatoes (drizzled with olive oil and oven-softened) and a fresh green salad.
