David Bristow's many hiking and mountain biking trails are detailed under destinations like the Drakensberg, the Garden Route, Overberg, Karoo and Kalahari, and his expertise on historical happenings of the country, such as the history of the Cape, the origins of Kruger National Park, the conservation efforts of iSimangaliso Wetland Park and the mysteries of Mapungubwe are popular amongst local and international readers.
