The Amakhala Game Reserve is located in the malaria-free Eastern Cape region and is home to a diverse range of animals including the Big 5, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, black wildebeest and a variety of antelope.
Game Viewing
Game drives are conducted twice a day from the 5-star lodge in the Amakhala Game Reserve. Open 4x4 vehicles ensure an authentic safari experience, offering you unobstructed views and magnificent photographic opportunities.
In additional to traditional ranger-led game drives you can engage in a variety of bird watching activities and game walks or explore one of the many walking trails on the reserve. If you are looking for an interesting vantage point from which to view your beautiful surrounds, you can opt for a boating or canoeing expedition under the watchful eye of experienced personnel.
Bush Dining
The Bush Lodge at Amakhala offers a luxurious dining experience in true African style. Lovingly prepared cuisine is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is sure to please even the most discerning of palates. Local favorites are prepared and served in the outdoor Boma under a carpet of stars, making for an unforgettable dining experience. Vegetarian meals are available and any special diets are catered for if arrangement is made prior to your arrival at the lodge.
A licensed bar serving a variety of local and imported wine, beer and spirits is available on the lodge premises.
