At Addo Dung Beetle Guest Farm, you can easily venture into Addo Elephant Park on a game drive.
You can do either a guided or self drive option. Both are good but you might just find that there is something very satisfying with a guide, who can explain more on the animal's behaviour and habitat - not that it is very difficult to find elephants! For families, children under the age of six years are not allowed on the guided drives.
You are highly likely to encounter the Big 5, as well as warthogs, zebra, Gemsbok, black wildebeest, springbok, and a variety of birds that inhabit the bush. Leopard are very seldom seen, being shy and secretive animals, but do occur in most areas of the expanded park.
Don’t forget to pack the camera. The views at Addo Dung Beetle Guest Farm will have you happily snapping away, especially with the ideal natural lighting at sunrise and sunset. The Eastern Cape is a region, which offers the best of both bush and beach. Apart from taking pictures of the various land mammals, trips to the beach at the right time of the year will also allow for marine animal sightings.
Between July and December of every year, the Eastern Cape coastline is frequented by Southern Right Whales and Humpback Whales. These animals glide past the shore; breaching, lobtailing and spy-hopping, which you can see from the beach.
