The Ekuthuleni Lodge lies nestled in the heart of the Waterberg Mountains in South Africa's Limpopo Province, in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, a wildlife sanctuary encompassing 33 000 hectares.
The reserve boasts a vast range of animals from aardvarks to zebra and all in between, as well as the Big 5.
Game drives are conducted twice daily, allowing you to watch Africa awaken by the sun in the early morning and view the nocturnal animals at play during the late-afternoon drive.
If you are looking to stretch your legs instead of sitting in a safari vehicle you can embark on an optional early-morning game walk under the protection and guidance of experienced and knowledgeable rangers. Being on foot allows you a better chance of spotting especially smaller animals and insects that you will generally miss if you were in a vehicle.
Some of the guided bush walks can take you to view the ancient the ancient San rock paintings that can be found in Welgevonden.
All meals at the authentic safari lodge in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve are freshly prepared only using the freshest ingredients. Meals can be enjoyed in a variety of locations including the cosy dining room or the open-air deck that is sheltered from the elements by an impressive reed awning. The dishes are all beautifully prepared, allowing you to feast with your eyes as well as your taste buds. Local and international specialties are meticulously prepared by a team of passionate chefs who insure that every plate of food served is a culinary masterpiece.
Ekuthuleni Lodge also sports a fully-stocked bar that offers a large selection of South African wines, spirits, beers, ciders and cold drinks.
