The little beach town of Uvongo is located on the KwaZulu-Natal’s South Coast, about an hour’s drive south of Durban. It has for generations been a favourite family holiday spot. The beach itself is surrounded by huge dunes covered with lush vegetation, so it's usually protected from wind.
There's also a small fresh-water pool and the ice-cream shop at the entrance to Uvongo Beach that serves up the best soft serves along the South Coast. Best of all, Uvongo has a lagoon that comes complete with a waterfall, pedal boats and kayaks.
