The Citrus Growers Association oversees the strategic investment of statutory levies by advocating on behalf of its members on legislative, trade, socio-economic and technical issues through liaison with government, civil society and industry.

The levy is used to fund research and technical support, market access, market development, consumer assurance, information sharing, logistics, transformation and administrative services. 

Most of these functions are carried out directly by the Citrus Growers Association, except for research and technical support services that are outsourced to Citrus Research International, and transformation and human capital development that are outsourced to the Citrus Growers Development Company and the Citrus Academy. 

The Citrus Growers Association aims to mitigate production and market associated risks, in terms of trade agreements, pest and diseases, biosecurity, logistical constraints and socio-political constraints.
