The primary vision of the Aquaculture Association of South Africa (AASA) is to ensure the promotion and development of the South African aquaculture industry.

The association upholds this vision through multiple services that support the aquaculture industry. AASA serves to promote the interests of the South African aquaculture industry and to create channels for communication and cooperation among members and industry partners.

The association also sets out to organise seminars, workshops and symposia wherein members of the association and industry partners are able to connect, build relationships, give advice and share information regarding aquaculture.

Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa is committed to investing in information and research about the cutting edge economic, social and environmental practices of production in aquaculture. They generate, collect and disseminate this information among the association’s members.

Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa also raises funds to support their objectives, as well as the objectives of the South African aquaculture industry as a whole.

It is the responsibility of the association to identify issues and opportunities within the industry, and engage with them accordingly, on behalf of its members and in cooperation with the relevant organisations and state bodies.

AASA serves as a congress where members are able to put forth suggestions and opinions and the association’s community may engage and debate these, in accordance with the primary objective of maintaining and advancing the local aquaculture industry.
