Sabi Sands, Kruger National Park
The Sabi Sands is famed for its leopard sightings and the Kirkman team will take extra care to position the vehicle for you to capture those perfect pictures of these spotted felines.
Game Drives
Set out in an open 4x4 safari vehicle in the company of a ranger and tracker team, who will attempt to track your favourite animals. Keep a lookout for the Big 5, hyenas and wild dogs- also well known in this area. Afternoon game drives tend to continue after dark, with a specially filtered spotlight used to illuminate the nocturnal wildlife.
Bush Walks
Guided bush walks are great for learning about smaller creatures, plants and trees. It is the perfect opportunity to touch, smell and listen to nature, connecting with your surroundings, during your stay at Kirkman’s Kamp.These walks intentionally avoid coming close to big game (due to safety reasons), but it's not to say that you won't catch a glimpse of the larger inhabitants.
Cascades and Canyon
This spectacular helicopter flight starts at Hazyview, near to Kirkman's Kamp. Observe the cascading waterfalls on the slopes of God's Window and the Blyde River Canyon. Enjoy a picnic at the picturesque setting before returning to your historic lodge in the Sabi Sands.
Hot Air Balloon Safari
Soar above the undulating hills and canyons of the South African Lowveld. This hour long flight traverses over the Limpopo towards the Drakensberg Escarpment, over Blyde River Canyon, vineyards and a myriad of private nature reserves. Take in God's Window and the Fish River Canyon with a bird's eye view. Witness spectacular scenery and wildlife as you drift seamlessly across the African sky.
