Sitting perched on a cliff overlooking the Sterkstroom River, you can be guaranteed ample opportunity to get acquainted with the fauna and flora of the region.
Game drives depart twice-daily from the romantic retreat in Limpopo’s beautiful Waterberg district under the guidance of experienced rangers who are passionate to share their knowledge with you.
During the morning drives, you can witness the African landscape waking up around you. While the late afternoon drive gives you the unique opportunity to experience the nocturnal life of the bushveld from close-up.
Bird watching is a real treat in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve with an array of water birds, including Temminck’s and bronze winged coursers, spotted and water thick knees. Harriers, hawks, falcons goshawks and owls can all be found here. With over 280 confirmed species of birds and over 60 unconfirmed species, you are bound to find some to tick off your own bird list.
All meals served at the Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway are an absolute masterpiece. A romantic thread runs throughout everything the staff does at the lodge, ranging from picturesque table decorations to the careful selection of each dining area. You can indulge in an abundant breakfast served on the balcony, whilst taking in the breathtaking views surrounding you.
Lunch is a hearty affair served up in gorgeous surroundings while birds chatter in the surrounding trees. Dinner can be enjoyed at your own private table for two in the wine cellar or in front of the cosy fireplace. After dinner, you can indulge in a nightcap in the bar before heading off to bed.
All meals are served as a set menu, however, special dietary requirements are catered for with pleasure with prior arrangement.
