From Port Nolloth, you travel north to Alexander Bay where the road turns to gravel before the final 92km to Sendelingsdrif. This is where you enter the Richtersveld National Park.
The recently constructed chalets are well equipped and for those who are not geared for camping, this is a good option to use as a base to explore the park. For the campers, you can head further to a number of campsites dotted throughout the park.
De Hoop is certainly a favourite among campers with giant mountains at the back of you, a rollicking river right in front, and the dramatic /Ai/Ais ridges stacking up towards the horizon.
