Phinda Private Game Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal

The Phinda Private Game Reserve stretches over 23 000 hectares of protected wildlife land in KwaZulu Natal.

Game Viewing

During a game drive at Phinda Zuka Lodge, you can expect to see a variety of wildlife including the ever-popular Big 5 and well over 400 bird species. The game reserve is also well-known for its cheetah sightings.

This exclusive lodge offers twice-daily game drives with the early morning drive commencing at dawn. Your personal ranger will, over a cup of coffee or tea, discuss in detail with you what the drive will entail. The late afternoon drive lasts until well after dark and will allow you to get a glimpse of the night-life surrounding the lodge.

If you are looking for something different to a game drive, you can enjoy a boat cruise down the Mzinene River, taking in the wildlife as they come to drink or frolic in the water. You can also opt for an exhilarating and informative bush walk under the supervision of your personal guide.

Bush Dining

Your personal chef in the interactive kitchen will carefully prepare your meals at this exclusive lodge in the Phinda Private Game Reserve. At breakfast, you can indulge in delightful fruit and cheese platters followed by a selection of hot breakfast dishes, which include eggs, bacon, oats and waffles.

When you return from the morning’s activities lunch will be waiting for you in the dedicated dining area or on the outside deck. If you still feel peckish after this you can indulge in an afternoon tea.

At night, a sumptuous dinner will await you either at the lodge’s Boma or in a surprise bush location. The bar is fully-licensed and well-stocked with a large selection of local and imported wine, beer, ciders and spirits
