For a safari into the Kruger National Park, you are collected from Buhala Lodge and taken directly onto a game drive.

Wildlife Viewing

Spend the day with your guide exploring the vastness of the Kruger Park. Alternatively, opt for a morning game walk, which begins at the Malelane Gate. Take a stroll on the wild side as you view the park on foot. Night game drives are also available starting from Malelane Gate, which includes searching for elusive nocturnal game with the aid of a flashlight.

Day Excursions

Head out on a day tour from this luxury accommodation near the Kruger Park to discover South Africa’s best attractions such as The Geo Trail in Barberton, Pilgrim’s Rest, the Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, and the Three Rondavels. You can opt to self drive and explore, or try out an organised tour.

There are animal centres near to Buhala that you can visit, such as Elephant Whispers, which is home to six rescued African elephants. There is also Chimpanzee Eden, where you can take a tour and be introduced to individual chimps and learn about their plight. Buhala is a mere one hour's drive from the borders of both Mozambique and Swaziland for a day trip farther afield.

Golfing

Bring your golf clubs and play a round of golf at the prestigious Leopard Creek Golf Course, where as a guest of Buhala Lodge you will be made welcome. This unique golf course is cleverly designed using many water features ensuring interesting sights of game. Many of the golfing hazards take on a new meaning here, as you may encounter some of Africa’s wildlife either on the course or in the Kruger National Park, which borders the course.

Bush Spa

The open deck bush spa offers views over the Kruger Park and the Crocodile River. It is ideal for a relaxing experience, especially for those who have spent a busy day out golfing. Choose from full back and neck massages, full body massages with hot rocks, as well as manicures and pedicures.

Dining

The Buhala Lodge’s fully licenced restaurant and bar in the main building is famed for its fine dining and exceptional South African wines.

Breakfast and lunches are often served al fresco on the wide veranda, offering fabulous views of the Crocodile River and Kruger Park. Dinners are a more elegant affair and are served in the gracious dining room. The three course menu is changed daily and offers at least two options for each course. Any special dietary requirement can be catered for.
