A mecca for nature lovers, this enormous tract of land has a low density of safari tour vehicles traversing the area with a high density of wildlife. On your arrival at Rattray’s you will be introduced to your ranger guides who will help you get the most out of your game viewing.

The beds are so comfy here that you might not want to wake up for the early morning game drive. This is perfectly fine. Each guest is encouraged at Rattray’s, to enjoy the camp, it’s surroundings and set aside time for relaxing too.

You can find a good book to read in the library to take out with you onto the viewing deck that overlooks the river. You are sure to be distracted by the arrival of elephants, waterbuck and buffalo that often head down to enjoy the water.

The decor and furniture at Rattray’s on MalaMala comprises of refined antiques, dark mahogany wood and clean neutral tones. In existence since 1927, this vintage, timeless lodge captures the nostalgia of the early safari days.
