Luxury Escape - Activities
Madikwe Game Reserve, North West Province
Set out across Madikwe Game Reserve, in an open landrover guided by an experienced ranger that knows the area intimately.
Game Drives
Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times for photography and game viewing, as the light is good and the animals are active. Look for leopards protecting their spoils in the bough of a tree. Or watch the wild dogs as they return back to their den, greeting each other with wiggles, sniffs and whining.
The bird life and game is prolific and varied. Here every drive shows a different facet of South African bush life, at its best.
Children on Safari
The Tau Cubz Club provides range fun-filled activities for children such as game drives, treasure hunts tricks and handicrafts. Each child receives a Cubz Club backpack filled with activity books, stickers, checklists and a Tau T-shirt.
The club is aimed at 3 - 5 year olds, keeping them entertained as the adults enjoy their morning game drive. Older kids are more than welcome to join in the fun or join the adults on their safari adventures.
Community Projects
Whilst visiting Tau Game Lodge, you have the opportunity to visit some of the local initiatives that the lodge have helped. Being part of a community, it is an important role to help uplift people within your community. The Tau Foundation does this by raising funds to develop the local area. You can visit the local school, which was upgraded with fencing, a sports ground, computer room and a vegetable garden to name but a few of the successful projects.
Or, you may like to join the Tau Forest Fund, and give something back to the environment in the form of planting an indigenous tree in Madikwe.
