Located on a private concession, this area acts as a 15 000 hectare playground for wildlife. Let’s face it, this is what people really come here for. Daily game drives will have you snapping up your best pics of elephants, hyenas, lions, giraffes, impalas, zebras, buffalos, and maybe even a rhino if you are lucky. Game view, relax and repeat. In between morning and evening drives, you can indulge in a private massage, or lounge out by the pool, or on the private deck- both are prime spots to continue your nature watching while sipping on a frothy beer. You might notice that you are being watched too, as curious little vervet monkeys pop their heads out from the rooftop… Let’s not forget about the food. All of your dietary needs will be taken into consideration. If you like options, then you will appreciate the buffet-style meals, as you get to try a bit of everything. You will look forward to dinnertime, where meals are served in the traditional outdoor boma complete with storytelling around the open fire.
Children of all ages are welcome at the Main Shishangeni Lodge, which now offers a children's program with a dedicated children's ranger. The program includes kiddies game drives in the mornings and afternoons with an extra activity slot before and after lunch where children are kept busy and get educated on the surrounding bush creatures.
