Makuleke is a wild and isolated part of the Kruger National Park, scenically diverse and teeming with game
Your South African safari adventure starts here, at Outpost Lodge. Twelve luxury suites rest on a hillside overlooking a private concession of 28 000 hectares within the Kruger National Park. Choose from Luxury River View Suites or Luxury Bush View Suites. The Honeymoon Suite is located at the highest point offering privacy, seclusion and stunning views.
This eco-friendly safari lodge embraces all of that open space. Built from sustainable materials, the walls have been replaced with recycled glass, providing a panoramic view of the Luvuvhu River valley. You can literally let it all hang out as you soak in a hot bath while taking in the views. If that's just a tad too much freedom for your liking, make use of the floor to ceiling electric blinds.
This is where the wild things roam. Apart from large herds of elephants and buffalo, keep an eye out for nyla and Tsessebe antelope, impala, hippos, crocs, lions, leopards and large Baobabs dating back 1400 years. Adding a little cultural flavour, you also have the opportunity to visit Makuleke Village to learn about the history and lifestyle of the Makuleke people.
Tip: come hungry. This safari adventure comes complete with breakfast buffets, lunches served as a picnic out near the river and traditional dinners enjoyed by lantern light beneath the stars. In between your game viewing (and eating) activities, release some tension with a private massage, or simply vegetate by the pool while the Outpost staff top you up on ice-cold Pimm’s.
