Back to Basics - Activities
Kruger National Park

Camp Shonga boasts an exceptional team of trackers and guides who will use their skills to locate animals using noise, tracks, dung and their knowledge of animal movements and habitats.

Big 5 Game Viewing

Let's be honest, if you’re looking to stay in the Kruger Park, you're really there for the safaris. Game drives run twice daily, one in the morning and one during the evening.

Bird Watching and Bush Walks

During this walk, you will be exposed to termite mounds and other unique facets of the bush such as dung, tracks, and hundreds of other species of those smaller African animals, as well as plants that are indigenous to the area. The Kruger Park offers outstanding birdwatching too. Keep an eye out for vultures, bee-eaters, rollers, eagles, bustards, hornbills and starlings.

Sanctuary Spa

Shishangeni Private Game Lodge offers guests who reside at Camp Shonga the chance to truly relax at their sanctuary spa, which is located at the Main Lodge. This is a top perk for couples and honeymooners to indulge in after an early morning game drive. Therapists offer Aromatherapy Massages, Indian Head Massages and Foot Massages.

Food & Drink

This is an activity in its own right. You will not be going to bed hungry. From coffee breaks on your morning game drives, to sundowner drinks during the evening. Buffet style food awaits you, with plenty of options to suit all dietary requirements. The Main Lodge at Shishangeni is equipped with a traditional outdoor boma, which guests from Camp Shonga can make use of.
