Spend the day at your leisure exploring Namaqua National Park, or relaxing at the rest camp.
If you want to experience a pristine piece of Namaqualand shoreline with idyllic bays and virgin duneveld, then take a drive to Groen-Spoeg. This 50-kilometre stretch of coast was acquired by SanParks from De Beers Consolidated Mines in June 2010 and has been incorporated into Namaqua National Park. Because this was a mining zone, the area was out of bounds to the public, keeping it free of development of any kind. Groen-Spoeg was never mined and remained untouched, unspoilt and teeming with wildlife.
The wildlife is typical of the region and includes gemsbok, red hartebeest, springbok, leopard, caracal and aardvark. The birding is good with abundant sightings of, among others, ostrich, secretary bird, jackal buzzard, black harrier, southern pale chanting goshawk and flamingo
