The day is spent at your own pace in the Augrabies Falls National Park where the Orange River thunders spectacularly down a 60m-drop into a gorge carved through huge rocks. The park has a number of things to enjoy and you can join a guided half- or full-day rafting trip during the day.
Hike the Dassie Trail, a 5km self-guided hiking trail that leads you on a circular route that follows the gorge to Arrow Point and out into the veld by the Potholes and Moonrock before heading back to the Rest Camp. Look out for rock dassies and the majestic Giant Kingfisher along the way.
In the evening you can also join a guide for a night drive into the park. You will see more animals at night because it can be quite hot during the day and many of the mammals come to drink at the waterhole at night.
