Daily tours leave the reception area at Knysna Elephant Park every 30 minutes.
Following an educational video, guests are taken to the field where you have the opportunity to interact, feed and walk amongst the herd. You also have the opportunity to purchase an ‘elephant snack bucket’ to feed the elephants. Kids under 5 years go free.
You can join the guides and walk alongside elephants at Knysna Elephant Park, which lasts around 20 minutes. There are only two walks per day. A reasonable fitness level is required, with comfortable walking shoes.
This is great for large groups of around 10-50 people. It includes snack platters and drinks and the experience runs from 16:30-19:00 in summer and 16:00 to 18:30 in winter. This is especially great for celebrations, or staff functions.
Knysna Elephant Park also takes on volunteers to help look after the elephants, and to help with general maintenance of the reserve. You will assist Dr Debbie Young in collecting data, observing the herd and making recordings of their behaviour.
