If you dream of taking photos of a variety of animals and birds, then the Kariega Game Reserve can help make your dreams come true.
The owner-managed Kariega Private Game Reserve is situated in the malaria-free Eastern Cape Province and offers spectacular close-up animal encounters, which include frequent sightings of rhino, buffalo and leopard as well as a large variety of other mammal and bird species. Twice-daily game drives in luxury open-roof safari vehicles leave from the Kariega Settlers Drift Lodge in the early morning and late afternoon under the guidance of experienced game rangers. If you are looking for a more physical outdoor encounter, you can explore one of the many hiking trails, either with a guide or on your own in the predator-free Eastern section of the reserve.
The game here is plentiful and varied, with close up encounters being the norm. Photographic safaris can be arranged, with an experienced guide photographer and private specifically rigged vehicle available to ensure you get the best shots possible.
Looking for a different vantage point from which to explore your surroundings? You can take to the waters of the reserve in a canoe or aboard a boat slowly making its way down the river. A great way to go bird watching.
Mealtime at Kariega Settlers Drift Lodge is an extravagant affair with sumptuous dishes expertly prepared by highly qualified chefs. Breakfast consists of a cold continental buffet and hot-breakfast menu while lunch is served as a buffet with a variety of tantalizing sweet and savoury dish options.
