Once the sun has disappeared behind the Drakensberg Mountains, it is time to head back to the lodge in time to freshen up before dinner.
Game Drives
Kapama Karula Lodge offers you morning and afternoon game drives. Early morning starts with tea and coffee before setting off as the dawn breaks. The game drives are in an open 4x4, and are accompanied by well trained rangers and trackers. Seeing the Big 5 is a distinct possibility, but seeing the smaller and more rare wildlife species is also likely.
Midway through the drive, there is a chance to stop for some refreshments before heading back to the lodge for a late breakfast. Late afternoon it is time to head back out into the reserve for another game drive.
As the shadows become longer, the animals begin to stir again allowing for some excellent photo opportunities. As the sun begins to set, your guide will find a viewpoint for you to disembark from the vehicle and enjoy a refreshing sundowner drink.

After all the activities of the day you can visit the Kapama Karula Lodge’s wellness spa for an array of soothing treatments. There are many different options from half day to all day treatments.
With offerings from full body massage, scalp scrubs and facials there is a lot for you to choose from. The wellness centre is fully kitted out with top of the range equipment, a steam room and jet baths to relax your muscles.
