Exceptional Elephant Encounters - Activities
Kapama, Greater Kruger

Besides the exceptional elephant encounters in the Greater Kruger, you can expect world-class game viewing opportunities of a variety of different game.

Game Drives

The experienced professional game rangers will take you out to view the abundant wildlife that calls this area home. Not only does the Kapama Private Game Reserve offer sightings of the Big Five but there is also a chance to view cheetah, spotted hyena, giraffe, zebra and just over 350 bird species. Camp Jabulani understands that no two visitors are alike, and with this in mind, your safari experience is tailor-made for you. If you prefer an extra hour out in the bush, no problem. Or, if you prefer to stay a little longer in bed, no problem.

Walking Safaris

Imagine the excitement of heading into the bush with your armed ranger, tracking spoor (footprints of animals). On the walking safaris you can take in all the smells and sounds of the bush and learn more about the different trees and plants. The pace is set around your fitness level, while safe distances are always kept when encountering the larger animal species.

Elephant Interactions

In 2016 the decision was taken to completely phase out elephant-back safaris, but you can still interact with the elephants at the Camp. Elephants here spend their days in the open, within the Kapama Private Game Reserve under the close supervision of the keepers. With your interactions, you can feed and touch the elephant ambassadors while learning more about them and their individual stories.

Excursions to Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre

The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre is located approximately 30 minutes from Camp Jabulani. You can easily head out on a day excursion to this rehabilitation centre, which is one of the leading private research and breeding facilities for endangered species in South Africa.
