At Ithala Game Reserve, you can view some of the smaller wildlife species that occupy the surrounding lands.
Hiking
Hiking at Ithala Game Reserve has a variety of options. The vast and beautiful terrains that make up the reserve is a hiker’s paradise for all levels. Guides supervise most hiking trails, however there are small self-guided hikes. Please note that children under 13 years old are not allo wed on hikes.
Auto Trails
Auto trails are self-driven game drives you can take through the Ithala Game Reserve. The auto trails can only be done with an off-road vehicle and you must respect the rules and regulations when out in the reserve. This is an amazing experience for the whole family. Stay on the marked trail while you discover and explore the beautiful reserve filled with nature, history and culture.
Game Viewing
Besides an abundance of birdlife, there are also herds of buffalo, giraffe, rhino and a variety of buck within the reservation. Trained rangers facilitate all bush walks out in the reserve. Guided game drives are also available.
