Day and night guided game drives are a great way to explore Hluhluwe Game Reserve's vast wilderness, with a knowledgeable guide that will share the secrets of the South African bush life with you.
Game Drives
If you prefer the privacy of your own vehicle and moving at your own pace, then self driving is the way to go. Please be aware though that the bush camps can only be accessed by 4x4, 4x2 or an SUV with a high clearance due to the rugged nature of the roads.
Bush Walks
Why not set out on foot with an experienced field ranger? Here at Hluhluwe Game Reserve you can learn more about the ecology and the flora of the area, as well as their traditional medicinal uses by the local population. Short walks of approximately two hours are conducted daily from Hilltop Camp.
Picnics
Pack your picnic basket and head out into the wilderness. Here you can spend all day traversing the reserve and stop to dine in one of several picnic spots. Each has ablution facilities and a barbeque area, so don’t forget your charcoal and matches.
Bush Dining
Hilltop Camp has a restaurant and bar area, with a lovely outdoor patio. It has a perfect high vantage point, with breathtaking views across the reserve.
For self-catering there is a shop that sells a wide range of supplies.
