HL Hall and Sons Community Initiatives

HL Halls & Sons (Halls) has a long history of contributing to its community and building strong partnerships for sustainable donations to those in need.

Since its inception in 1890, Halls cultivated a reputation for contributing to its surrounding communities - delivering and donating to schools, clinics and welfare. Today Halls still maintains that reputation and positive, communal attitude. The company has established a non-profit organisation called the ‘Halls Sakha Sive Trust’ which accepts third party funding to ultimately enable Halls to make a deeper impact in its community. Halls aims to work through the ‘Halls Sakha Sive Trust’ as a vehicle for the organisation's long-term initiatives.

Grower partners, customers, suppliers and the general public are encouraged to participate by donating or volunteering in many of the Halls Sakha Sive Trust initiatives. Some of the initiatives  include providing educational toys and tools to many of the local crèches and schools Halls contributes to, and providing support to schools through feeding schemes or on-going education training to the staff.

Halls also partners with health centres such as ‘Right to Care’, and aids in providing information sessions regarding HIV/Aids for the staff and surrounding community. Halls also offers support to a number of care centres that work with people living with HIV and Tuberculosis.
