Cotton SA offers a number of programs, resources and information to its members to ensure the promotion and sustainability of the cotton industry.

Farmers, producers, academics and technicians are entitled to certain benefits and services for the growth of cotton and its affiliated industries.

Cotton SA runs various programs such as the Smallholder Farmers Skills Development Program, designed specifically to support smallholder cotton farmers and the Cotton Certification Scheme regulating the use of the Cotton Trade Mark. They also manage the Sustainable Cotton Cluster, focused on driving a more sustainable cotton supply chain.

The organisation disseminates economic, technical and market-relation information on the cotton industry, and they produce regular reports about sector developments and the cotton economy. This is a valuable resource for anyone interested in investing or participating in the cotton sector in South Africa.

Their economic reports include current market statistics, crop estimates, annual yields and crop management, price indexes, production and export of cotton, and smallholder farmers production estimates. Technical information consists of cultivar recommendations and a how-to guide for starting cotton farming.

Members can access various industry contacts and associations of cotton production, the South African textile industry and workers’ unions. They are also invited to annual events, agricultural expos and seminars that allow them to meet industry experts, marketing contacts and other farmers and producers.
