Tulbagh to Wellington
From your accommodation in Tulbagh, take Station Rd to R46, and continue on the R46 to Wellington. Continue on Hoofweg Rd to your destination, which is one of the Western Cape’s most beautiful countryside towns.
There are numerous wine estates and cellars in the area to visit, such as Diemersfontein Wines and Bosman Family Vineyards. Sampling fruit other than wine should also be on the agenda - Wellington’s berry farm has an array of strawberries, raspberries, youngberries and Cape gooseberries and, as well as guided tours, you can do your own berry picking.
For the more adventurous, the Limietberg Nature Reserve has nine different hiking trails through fynbos-rich terrain, as well as mountain biking trails to enjoy.
Wellington to Cape Town
End off your 3-day countryside tour with a scenic drive back to Cape Town. Get on N1 from Champagne St and R44, and follow N1 to Christiaan Barnard St/M60 in Cape Town.
On your drive, you’ll go through the town of Paarl, which has a number of gorgeous wine estates, hiking trails, mountain biking routes and restaurants to enjoy.
