Bronze Wildebeest Sculpture

The Great Migration

Every year almost two million Wildebeest migrate through the Serengeti, traversing Kenya and Tanzania.

A spectacle witnessed by tourists from around the world, the synced movement of so many animals was enough to inspire this bronze interpretation by a well-known South African artist.

He depicts the Wildebeest crossing a river and instils the faith that these animals have in the actions of the herd.

Fun Wildebeest Fact: Wildebeest are highly reliant on water, and they will even quench their thirst in muddy water. They'll always remain within a 15-kilometer radius of a reliable water source in locations where they can't migrate to follow seasonal supplies.
