Tented Safari Experience - Activities
Balule, Greater Kruger
At Sausage Tree Safari Camp there are two guided game drives daily, at dusk and at dawn.
Game Viewing
The best time of year to view game is in the springtime, between September to November, when larger mammals give birth. During autumn and winter (March to May), most of the trees lose their leaves. This makes it somewhat easier to spot the more elusive game.
There are endless animal viewing opportunities due to the presence of 94 mammals, 280 birds, 72 reptiles as well as plenty fascinating insect, fish and amphibian species. There are an estimated 128 species of trees. These include the Sausage Tree, Marula, Acacia and Combretum.
Bush Dining
While staying at this tented safari accommodation in the Kruger National Park, breakfast is served on the open deck near a watering hole. Dinners are an equally memorable affair, with opportunities to stargaze while meals are being prepared on the hot coals at an open fire.
African Bush Weddings
If you fancy a bush wedding, look no further. The team at Sausage Tree Safari Camp can happily arrange absolutely everything for your special day. From the photographer, to the flowers, the food, make-up, the marriage officer and even wellness pampering such as ‘His and Hers’ massages.
Photography Workshops
If you enjoy getting up close to wild animals and would like to learn how to capture the excitement through your camera lens, we recommend that you sign up for a photography workshop. Workshops are conducted in small groups, with a good balance of theoretical versus practical modules.
