Peace and Tranquillity - Activities
Balule, Greater Kruger

Game drives at Toro Yaka Bush Lodge in Balule Nature Reserve will be a definite highlight for you.

Game Drives

Enjoy both the morning and evening options as you traverse through Balule Nature Reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for the local lion pride and the giraffe community, which is well-known in this area.

All game drives are conducted in open 4x4 open view vehicles so that you have ample viewing freedom, especially if you want to do some nature photography.

Walking Safaris

At this safari lodge in the Greater Kruger walking safaris take place every morning, lasting about 2-3 hours. It is in the early mornings when the animals are especially active, and there is a good chance that you will get to see many birds, insects and reptiles, along with some of the larger game such as giraffe, zebra, impala, kudu, vervet monkey, waterbuck, wildebeest, duiker and steenbok. Your qualified FGASA guide will take great care of you on these walks keeping safety in mind at all times.

Birding

While out on 4x4 game drives or heading out on foot, you will come across many of the local birds. Even while relaxing back, you will be sure to spot some of the 250 species that reside in the area.

Look out for Kori Bustard, Ground Hornbill, Lappet faced Vulture, Pel's Fishing Owl, Martial Eagle and Saddle billed Stork- also known as South Africa's birding “Big 6”.
