Indulge in Romance - Activities
Balule, Greater Kruger

Pondoro Game Lodge offers a nature walk with an armed guide that is a thrilling experience as you encounter animals on foot.

Game Drives

Game drives head out twice daily- early in the morning and late afternoon. You have the option of doing both to make the most of your game viewing experience. The vehicles hold up to eight guests at a time, but as an added personal touch at, you and your partner can book out a private safari vehicle and tracker guide.

Game drives transverse an area of 10 000 hectares, heading off-road to enable the best sightings possible. The rangers are constantly in touch with each other, by radio, to keep track of all animal movements.

At night, your tracker-guide will shine a spotlight around the vehicle as you enter deeper into the bush. This is an ideal opportunity to spot nocturnal creatures such as civets, porcupines, bush babies, hyenas, owls and nightjars.

Bush Walks

This is less obtrusive than ambling out on a 4x4 and a great option for those seeking to get a more intimate experience with nature.

During this walk, you will be exposed to termite mounds and other unique facets of the bush such as dung, tracks, and hundreds of other species of smaller African animals, and plants that are indigenous to the area. This is also a good time for bird watching, so keep an eye out for vultures, bee-eaters, rollers, eagles, bustards, hornbills and starlings.

Sleepouts & Picnics in the Hide

Make the most of your stay at this private South African safari lodge by opting for one night spent in the sleep out. This tree house offers a unique view of the waterhole and a panoramic view of the bush.

Adding to this, you can also indulge in an exclusive picnic set within the wilderness. The staff at Pondoro will pack you a delicious picnic basket, and to compliment your picnic spread, a good bottle of local South African wine can be selected from the extensive wine cellar. Be sure to book these experiences well in advance!
