View of Camdeboo Pass and plains, just outside the town of Aberdeen, Eastern Cape.

The area is well-known for its mohair and wool production, joined by sheep farming and the odd cattle farmer. The town of Aberdeen is a charming glimpse into the past with various styles of architecture, including Victorian, Georgian, Karoo, German, Gothic Revival, Russian, Art Nouveau and Flemish Revival. No wonder Aberdeen is a declared architectural conservation town!

Travellers on a Karoo road trip on their way to Graaff-Reinet should stop over in Aberdeen for some refreshments and a picturesque stroll down memory lane.
