Spend feel-good time at Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre or the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre for some fascinating insights into rare and vulnerable animal species and the efforts made to save them.

Hoedspruit is a popular stopping off point for Kruger, with a wide selection of restaurants, curio shops, supply stores, lodges and banking facilities. It is surrounded by dozens of private game reserves and wildlife sanctuaries, including the Hoedspruit Cheetah Project and the Khamai Reptile Park.

Drive through Orpen Gate straight into Kruger’s Lion country or opt for any of a number of remarkable private game reserves.

Blyde River Canyon.

Enjoy the splendour of the 3rd largest canyon on earth at Blyde River Canyon, including a rare living Kadishi Tufa Waterfall (2nd tallest of its kind) and the Three Rondavels. 

Visit the Olifants River as you boulder-hop, jump into crystal-clear mountain pools and explore a maze of subterranean caves.

Maduma Boma MTB Trail is an easy 5 km trail. A leisurely morning cycle brings you face to face with some of the 23 mammal species and 250 bird species on the reserve. The trail is on gravel road and jeep track and maps available at reception. Riding is for guests only. Self-catering accommodation in chalets.
