Since its inception, Southern Oil (Pty) Ltd has significantly expanded its product range to also include other edible oils from olives, sunflowers, soy and coconut. They have also diversified into the production of livestock and pet feed.
The canola is sourced locally, while coconuts are sourced in Mozambique, as coconuts are not produced commercially in South Africa. The edible oils are available as crude, cold-pressed or refined and can be blended to any desired specification.
SOILL offers bottling and repacking services for new and existing product ranges, and is involved in product development. The bottling and repacking plant opened in 2003, with over a thousand boxes of products being packed during the first month. The facility received a major mechanisation revamp in 2014, increasing the bottling capacity to over 3 000 tons per month.

Southern Oil (Pty) Ltd canola oil has been endorsed by the Cancer Association of South Africa, CANSA, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation of South Africa, because it is naturally cholesterol free, and rich in Omega-3, which is essential for optimal brain functioning and the production of certain hormones.
Products are subjected to stringent health and safety checks, with the company’s laboratory performing more than 58 000 quality checks per year on both incoming canola seed and outgoing refined oil. Their products are FSSC22000, HACCP, Halaal and Kosher Certified.
