This is one of Sir Richard Branson's favourite spots, and it is easy to see why. Ulusaba Rock Lodge is located in the western part of the Sabi Sand Reserve, on the top of a rocky outcrop or ‘koppie’. This location once provided the perfect lookout point for Shangaan warriors and today it provides guests the perfect lookout for the Big 5 and rarer creatures such as wild dogs and if you are lucky, maybe Richard Branson himself.
Built into the granite rock, this luxury accommodation provides outstanding vantage points over the African landscape. On a clear day, you can see the Drakensberg Mountains, but nothing compares to the cover of night, where you can gaze up at the milky way. From its euphoric setting to its overall design, Ulusaba lodge offers an experience that will be remembered for years to come.
Complete with thatched roofs and mahogany-stained wooden floors, the additional activities alongside game drives provide a well-rounded experience. You can choose how you want to spend you time. From massage therapy, day excursions, village tours and wine tasting. You might even prefer to spend your free time lounging by the pool with cocktail in hand, while the kids are kept entertained at the Cub’s Club.
