Your authentic safari experience in the Sabi Sands comes complete with interpretive 4x4 game drives with skilled local guides.
The morning option is an early start but worth getting up for, as you will spot various animals such as giraffe, hippo, crocodiles, various water birds, warthogs, impala, kudu, bushbuck, zebra, elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard.
Night drives are particularly great for leopard tracking as this is the time when they most venture out to hunt. You will get to witness the nocturnal creatures such as porcupines, caracal, civets, jackals and owls. The highlight on these drives is when the tracker’s spotlight scans the bush and you can help pick up the reflections of the various animals eyes.
Expand your knowledge of the African bush when heading out on a walking safari at Selati Camp. Your experienced guide will teach you about the small creatures, plants and trees found in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Bush walks take place just after breakfast and guests are divided to walk in small groups to make the experience more intimate.
In the evening (around 20:00), you will return from an evening drive for dinner. This is announced by a few short blasts from an authentic kudu horn. Some of the tracker guides will join in for a little while in the the boma (a traditional reed fenced enclosure) where you can share stories of your animal sightings. Tuck in to the African inspired cuisine and fine South African wines.
