Pretoriuskop Rest Camp guarantees a wildlife safari in Kruger Park like no other, with three guided game drives departing daily.

Guided Game Drives

Unlike other Kruger Park rest camps in the area, guided game drives depart three times a day at Pretoriuskop instead of just two. These excursions are led by experienced tracker-guides ready to share their bush-wisdom and get you up close to all the wildlife action. They will take you around the hidden outcrops where klipspringer, oribi and duikers play, as well as the Mestel and Shitlhave dams filled with grunting hippos and other water-loving creatures. Keen to explore in foot? Daily bush walks are also available, departing in the mornings.

Birdwatching

Pretoriuskop Rest Camp is a special destination for avid birdwatchers embarking on a wildlife safari in Kruger Park. This corner of the reserve boasts hundreds of species to be seen, including the majestic African fish eagle and a plethora of waterbirds like storks, egrets and kingfishers near the dams and waterholes. Back at camp, Brown-headed parrots like the Cutthroat finch, and Redheaded weaver are regulars, with Bush shrikes often heard calling from the surrounding bush.

Explore Camp

As a rest camp, Pretoriuskop is also great place to do exactly that. But, when you are in the mood to stretch out your legs, go explore the grounds. There are plenty of well-placed picnic spots beneath the mahogany, marula and sycamore fig trees and massive pool to cool off in. There’s also a restaurant and bar on-site where you can order something hot and sizzling or cold and bubbling.
