Potatoes South Africa Management Team

Potatoes South Africa is made up of a board of directors with specialised portfolios, as well as dedicated staff members and a research team.

Potato production in South Africa takes place in 16 production regions with the four major regions, namely Limpopo, Eastern Free State, Western Free State and the Sandveld. Each region of production is manned by a board member, who oversees the farming operations in the region, and acts as a liaison between members and Potatoes South Africa . Furthermore, they work closely with industry partners to advise and protect potato farmers, educate new members and guide the responsible and sustainable farming of potatoes.

Potatoes South Africa has a partnership with The Agricultural Produce Agents Council, who regulates the occupations of fresh produce, export and livestock agents, as well as the Potato Certification Service, Plantovita, Prokon and the Independent Certification Council for Seed Potatoes. These partnerships ensure that the association stays up to date with market information, research opportunities, farming practices, and the latest consumer trends.

Potatoes SA offers its members a weekly newsletter, as well as an extensive library of documents pertaining to farming guidelines, past research projects and market-related information. Potato farmers can find an application form on Potatoes SA's website, along with the association’s constitution, listed board members and external links to potato-related articles.
