Plettenberg Bay lies off the Garden Route in the Western Cape, in South Africa and has become a prime beach holiday destination over the years. The moody-blue Tsitsikamma Mountains overlook this small town offering an array of hiking and biking trails that end in spectacular views of the region.

Close by is the highest bungee jump in the world at Bloukrans Bridge, some excellent mountain bike trails through Harkerville Forest, wonderful hiking trails along the Tsitsikamma coast and one of only 3 treetop canopy tours in the whole world. Plett also offers wonderful beaches for swimming, walking or surfing.

The warm turquoise sea waters from the Indian Ocean offers the perfect water temperatures for swimming and an array of water sports during the summer months. Plett, as it is affectionately known, is often considered to be the best destination worldwide for boat-based marine mammal watching.

Southern Right Whales make their majestic appearance from June until November, and Humpback Whale from August to December. Large seaworthy ski boats transport clients in comfort or, for the more adventurous; there are escorted sea kayak trips as well.
